I. The meeting was called to order at 1:05 p.m.
II. Community Choir Festival: Sherrill Blodget reported that she sent the information out to all of her contacts. So far she has few responses. She will resend it in two weeks. She introduced the festival’s conductor, Tony Thornton, to the board. He shared that the separate choir clinics have been very successful at other festivals where he has conducted.
III. Children’s choir Festival: Susan Cherry reported that information was sent out to every Vermont ACDA member. The information is also available on the website. The registration deadline was moved to January and 60 students registered. Susan will forward total expected costs to Frank. Posters will be posted in the Rutland area, and Castleton students may be able to assist at the festival.
IV. Frank shared that he has learned some interesting facts at the Presidents’ meetings. ACDA (national) is trying to increase student membership by offering to pay $15 for student memberships; states will match that and the students will end up paying $5 for membership. States will also be able to offer ten free memberships in order to encourage non-members to join.
V. The meeting was adjourned at 1:25 p.m.
