Counterpoint, Vermont’s premiere classical vocal ensemble, along with nine instrumentalists, offers a comprehensive survey of founder / director / ACDA member Robert De Cormier‘s illustrious career–original compositions as well as arrangements of American folksongs and spirituals. Highlights include the moving cantata “Legacy” on poems by John Dobbs, “Four Sonnets to Orpheus” set to text by Rainer Maria Rilke, and an arrangement of former student Eric Weisberg’s “Dueling Banjos” – with Weisberg’s banjo dueling Counterpoint.
