I’m putting the word out about the VYOA choral auditions, with a slightly new approach: we are holding our traditional 2-day minicamp, August 18-19, but this year I am inviting students to come to the camp for one or both days without registering or committing to the year.
We are all interested in finding dedicated, talented singers for exceptional programs, but with the VYOA we are also interested in finding singers for whom lead roles in musicals might not be an eventuality — students whose skills are in need of development, and for whom the VYOA would be a strong complement to their music education as well as their extracurricular lives.
We’re also highlighting the opportunity for younger singers, grades 6-8 to join our Concert Chorale.
