Young Singers Chorus of VT

Regular Season Rehearsals

Rehearsals for our regular season ensembles begin on Tuesday, September 20th.
All rehearsals will be at U-32 HS in Montpelier, VT. Auditions will be Sept. 6 and 13.

The new structure for our ensembles is as follows:
JR Treble  from 4-5pm
(elementary school through grade 4)

SR Treble*   from 5- 6:30pm
(5th-12th grade girls and boys with treble voices)

Mixed*  from 6:30- 9pm
(5th-12th grade girls soprano/alto and boys tenor/bass)

* All singers interested in SR Treble or Mixed Choir must attend a placement audition on either 9/6 or 9/13.

The number of girls in Mixed choir is determined by the number of boys enrolled. If the number of girls interested in singing with the Mixed choir is above what our enrollment allows, placement will be determined by seniority and number of years in YSCV. Otherwise, the girls will be able to choose to sing with SR Treble, Mixed or BOTH! There will be no extra tuition cost to sing with both ensembles, however you will need to purchase any additional music necessary.

Audition Appointments

There will be a total of eight sessions for which you may sign up. All placement auditions must be signed up for in advance.

Registration forms (available online at www.yscvonline.org) are due at the time of your audition.

Performances

“Vermont Sings for Peace“

The YSCV has been asked to participate in the “Vermont Sings for Peace” concert on Saturday, September 24th. Participation in this “Peace Concert Ensemble” is open to 40 singers from any of our ensembles, however you must be able to attend AT LEAST 3 of the 4 additional rehearsals.

DETAILS:
Rehearsals for this concert will be on Tuesdays from 4-6pm at U-32 HS (August 23, 30, September 6, 13)
The concert is Saturday, September 24 at 7pm at the Ira Allen Chapel in Burlington.
Our call time will be 3:30pm.
This ensemble will sing on its own, with all of the other choirs (totaling approx. 300 singers) and with acclaimed singer/composer Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul & Mary).

YSCV Fundraiser 

Saturday, November 12th at National Life in Montpelier

Call is 4:30pm, Show at 7pm

All ensembles will perform and solo opportunities are available at the discretion of the director. (This would be a great chance to sing your NEMFA or college audition song, if you have one!)

Solo material will be announced November 1st.

Holiday Spectacular

We will not have rehearsal on Tuesday, 12/20. Instead, there will be a dress rehearsal* on Wednesday, 12/21 at Harwood Union High School.
*JR treble will be dismissed early from this rehearsal.

Concert #1: South Burlington, Thursday, December 22
*JR Treble will not participate in this concert

Concert #2: Harwood Union HS. Friday, December 23
ALL ensembles perform!
