These workshops are FREE and OPEN TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS.

SCHEDULE – Morning session, 9:30-noon (optional for choirs/singers, yet all are welcome!)
presented by Vermont Chapter American Guild of Organists Workshops
9:30 – 10:00      
Coffee, Tea, and Fellowship

10:00 – 11:00       Workshop on Creative Hymn Playing, led by Kevin Parizo, Organist/Director of Music at the Church of the Assumption B.V.M. (Roman Catholic) and Minister of Music at United Methodist Church in Middlebury

11:00 – 12:00       Workshop on Conducting from the Keyboard, led by Arthur Zorn, Organist/Director of Music at Bethany UCC in Montpelier

SCHEDULE – Afternoon session, 1:00-5:30p.m. (optional for organists, yet all are welcome!)

1:00 – 1:15‎ Singers and Conductors Gather

1:15 – 1:30‎ Reflections on Choral Music by Walter Parker

1:30 – 1:45Warm Ups for All SingersDawn Willis

1:45 – 3:00‎ Conductors Share Choral Pieces that Work
Conductors are invited to share recommended pieces for community, church or school choirs (see below*)

3:00 – 3:15 ‎ Break

3:15 – 4:20‎ Interest Sessions (choose one)
Building Vocal Technique – Group Voice Lesson, led by voice instructor Allison D. Mills
Conductors Choice of Discussion Topics

4:30 – 5:30‎ Mini Performance
  – Any choirs are invited to sing a selection or two**. Closing with a joint piece ‎for all!‎

*Conductors are encouraged to bring selections that they would like to recommend to other directors and to also conduct a quick read-through of them as time allows.  The pieces can be any voicing – SATB, SAB, SSA, TTBB or other – and sacred or secular.  Please bring as many copies of each piece as possible  – at least 20 or more copies.

**Any conductors that would like to have their choir sing in the mini performance at the end of the day would be welcome to do so!  Please contact Dawn Willis at director@bellavocevt.org  for more information.
