Massachusetts ACDA summer conference

Mass ACDA cordially invites Vermont choral musicians to our 2013 Summer Conference, located primarily at Hampshire College, just 50 minutes from the southern Vermont border. Dates: July 24-26, with an optional “Berkshire Extension” on Saturday, July 27, to the Berkshire Choral Festival and Tanglewood. Conference headliners: Dr. Joe Miller, Westminster Choir College of Rider University; Lisa Parker, Dalcroze eurythmics specialist from Longy School of Music of Bard College; and the acclaimed Renaissance ensemble Blue Heron, directed by Scott Metcalfe. Free PDPs and very affordable graduate credit available via UMass Amherst.

 

Reading sessions (SATB, Children/Youth, Music in Worship) with large packets of recommended repertoire. Inspiring, practical interest sessions led by distinguished Massachusetts conductors on topics such as “Building a HS choral program from scratch,” “Tips for conducting an orchestra,” “Vocal health for choral teachers,” “Working with urban and economically-disadvantaged youth,” “Extended vocal techniques: Roomful of Teeth,” “Provocative programming for HS/Collegiate/Community Choruses.”
