Vermont Boychoir April-May 2014 update

From director Mark Railey, April 4, 2014

Hello Boychoir Family and Friends,

The Vermont Boychoir Spring Season will begin this Sunday, April 6th with voicing, registration, etc. We will meet in the Choir Room at Saint Michael’s College from 3:00 – 5:00. The season is two months – April and May only. Our recital/concert will be at Richmond Free Library at 4:00 on Sunday, May 25th.

This season, I will offer optional voice and/or piano lessons on a first come/first serve basis. The lessons will be offered after school and early evenings on Mondays and Wednesdays. The lessons will reinforce the music education the boys are learning in the choir. The cost for the optional lessons is $30/30 minute lesson. All materials would be provided.

On May 6-7, we will host Les Petits Chanteur de Laval, a 50 voice boychoir from Montreal. Please open your spare room to overnight a couple or three of the boys while they are in town. You will need to provide dinner, a bed and breakfast. Plus transport the boys to their first meeting. Details will be forthcoming.

The overall cost for the boychoir is approximately $250 – $300 per week. This will have to be divided among the participants. I can offer a couple of scholarships. Please contact me right away if you want a scholarship.

This Spring, we will welcome boys from all across the region!  Currently we have 11 or 12 boys registered.   I know that others have expressed an interest. Please spread the word and encourage friends to signup.
